We are looking for a Software Engineer to work on exciting projects with our JPL/NASA customer in the Los Angeles, CA area.

The successful candidate will be part of a larger team of developers working with program/project team members at various levels and will be an integral part of the team’s success.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Identifying potential issues and problems before they arise, determining the root cause and developing solutions
Developing scripts to automate tasks when possible
Build test automation solutions for functional, regression, interface and performance testing
Responsible for all stages of the software product life cycle – planning, creating, testing, deploying and supporting
Coordinate requirements with stakeholders

Required Skills:
Strong background with C/C++, Java, Python and Perl
Experience with Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, multiprocessing and threads
Experience working on Linux systems
Experience with Algorithm development
Experience with Object-Oriented programming
Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Build systems
Experience with DevOps
Experience with Science Data Analysis
Strong communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment

Desirable Skills:
JavaScript and web development
Strong background and interest in mathematics
Experience and interest in Kalman Filer and/or control systems
Enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies
Education (including Major) / Work Experience:

Bachelor of Science in STEM or a related field, or related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of related experience.

The work will be done in Pasadena CA

We specialize in building spacecraft, developing renewable energy technologies to help make our planet a better world and cutting edge research and development. Our disciplines include systems engineering, mechanical design, structural analysis, real time flight and ground software, simulation software, user interface software, and mission management software. We help our contractors with the full life cycle of product development from requirements to test and delivery.

Some of the programs we have previously or currently worked on include: Mars 98, Odyssey 01, Stardust, Genesis and Deep Impact, Mars Phoenix, Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, Orion, Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, GOES-R, OSIRIS-REx, Maven, JUNO, Grail, and the MarsFlight and LunarSIM Simulation. We also work on classified programs.

Red Canyon’s home office is located in scenic Denver, Colorado, and our regional office is in historic downtown Titusville, Florida.
