Missions
Genesis
As explained by the Lockheed Martin website, "Genesis was the first U.S. mission since Apollo to return extraterrestrial material to Earth for study. Launched in 2001, Genesis collected tiny particles of the solar wind to bring back to Earth. The solar wind sample—equal to only a few grains of salt—may provide unique insight into the origin of our solar system and shed light on the composition of the Sun."
